Church Planter Training in Gdynia

Zbyszek called in February and asked if I would help do some training for him regarding church planting.  He was going to have the leaders from his small denomination there.   Zbyszek and his team from several cities around Poland really desire to see the church expand quantitatively.

We had a great day together and we spoke of some of the cultural specifics of Poland.  Getting the gospel out to the people of Poland has many challenges, not the least of which is how they think about God.  So we discussed how our understanding of Christ impacts how we share Him and what we need to know about the culture’s understanding.  As Christ-followers we need to communicate in such a way as to be heard.

We also discussed the excitement the First-century church had regarding their relationship with God as seen in Acts.  The gospel of the Kingdom expanded spontaneously and exponentially in those first 300 years.  As such, we need to look at how they presented Jesus to their world.  More than that, the early church made disciples that multiplied as new Christ-followers made disciples from their circles of influence.

Dallas Willard asks, “Does the gospel you present naturally lead to discipleship?”  A great question that we all need to ask.

So we had a great time and I heard from Zbyszek more than a few times in the week afterward.  God is so good!
