People Groups in Europe
As GEM’s vision and mission changed not too long ago, it became a part of Doug’s role to discover who “all peoples of Europe” were. The study is still not complete, yet it is helping to inform future ministry for us on the continent. This portion of the study covers the EU27 and there are yet 24 other countries to include for GEM’s geography.
Yet the results are very interesting, including that we are now aware of 212 distinct people groups and around 32 unreached and unengaged people groups living in Europe’s orbit. Almost 6% of Europeans are immigrants.
As for why this is important, GEM understands God as expanding His Kingdom through all peoples of Europe to the World. We want to see this accomplished through movements of disciple-making and church planting that includes putting all these peoples of Europe on mission with God to a lost world.
