Our heart is to see Europe reached through dynamic movements of discipleship and church planting. Obedience-based discipleship. Sounds scary? Well Jesus perfectly obeyed the Father and the result produced a movement of love and care in reconnecting people to their Creator and living a life that extends dignity to their neighbor was well as meaning in life. This November we met for almost a full week to discuss the larger picture of GEM’s ministry and the context of Europe.
Europeans seek spiritual answers and yet it is obvious that they don’t consider the church the place to find them. In other words, the institutional church stands in the way to their meeting the Jesus of Scripture. Europeans would love to meet Christ, but they don’t have anyone telling them from a biblical perspective who He is. More than that, their view of Christ comes from a radical misunderstanding of God as judge, instead of Savior, Redeemer, Blesser. So we need to foster ministries that get people out of the church and into the cultures of Europe so the people can hear the good news.
So our tasked focused mostly on wrestling with how to get more people into the plentiful harvest of Europe so that Europeans can be presented with the goodness of God in Christ toward them. Please pray with us as we seek to see intentional reproducing discipleship movements launched 50 cities within Europe over the next 5 years. We desire to see no one left behind for the gospel and want to do our part to finish the task so that all can hear. Please pray for people to be willing to come and reach Europe in this way. Maybe I’ll see you on this side of the ocean?
