Grieving a Loss

Unexpected Trip

School was almost out for Winter break and on Thursday morning (Poland time, so late Texas time), Doug’s mom called sharing that Craig had been put into ICU at  local hospital and optimism, but in retrospect, hope, reigned in the tone of the call.  Nine hours later that same day, the news came that Craig had passed into eternity.

The emotional crazies hit, with tears, excessive talking and fixing all going on at once in our family in Poland.  God was gracious and provided both comfort and tickets to Fort Worth for the memorial service.  All along the way, at least for us, we sensed both the leading and care of Jesus.

Doug played a role in the memorial service, which reflected on Craig’s life well.  During the rest of the week we were there for my mom and to help in any way we could.

While the occasion was sad, it did allow us to get a picture with Doug’s brothers, their wives and kids.  Please remember us and the extended Woodson/Mitts family in your prayers.
