Overwhelmed by Gratitude
Lisa and I went to GEM’s annual leadership meetings in Lisbon. During our time there, we mostly had meetings, and Doug led a couple of sessions related to spiritual life for our workers.
We do, however, engage in an occasional fun event. This year all 60 of us cooked our lunch together — and that is what we are doing in the picture. Teams of us had portions of the meal to cook. It was a blast, and it was very tasty!
One other thing occurred, and that was a surprise thank-you for Doug's years of service on the Europe Leadership Team. They surprised Doug with some amazing videos, and later, some warm words of appreciation. Doug felt pleasantly overwhelmed with both appreciation and encouragement for his many years in regional leadership.
Doug continues serving in leadership capacities in GEM with CityReach and Spiritual Life, both of which could use more of his time.
