Megan’s Birthday Bash!

What a Party!

Well, wouldn’t you know that Megan’s vision for her party became a reality.  Now we were skeptical parents.  We were also intimidated by what Megan wanted.  She wanted to invite 40 to 50 kids to her birthday party.  We knew we couldn’t host it.  We wanted more like six.  We told Megan, though, that if she could organize it, go for it.  We also told her the entire 3.5 hours had to be planned and thought out.

The last weekend in October rolled around, the Facebook invite went out, and people showed up -- even her friends from Dzierzoniow, Poland (and boy was that a surprise in the best sense).  Almost 40 kids! They even did the Jesus Dance!

We were amazed at how well planned it was.  We were even more amazed at how the games Megan planned integrated people from all over (4+ schools, 2 or 3 cities, etc.) and that is not normal for Polish culture.  So we learned a lot about Megan, her friends and fun. Her friends loved the party, loved the events and it left a great impression.  Along the way, one person chose to follow Jesus.

It was really cool.  As parents, we were brought to tears to see what our daughter could do and how loved she was by her friends.  Pretty cool.  By the way, she has pretty amazing friends, so if you are one of them, consider yourself amazing!
