On the Lighter Side

Lots on ministry happenings, but not so much on life in this blog. So off to the lighter side.
Michael came back from GEM-K stating he wanted to learn guitar and was sort of nagging us to get him a teacher. He was persistent, and we were sort of resistant. Neither Lisa or I wanted to grow weary of urging him to practice. Nor did we want to buy a guitar that would sit in its case (this is what happened with my interest in guitar in the 1970s). Michael, though, heard our doubts and persisted. Did I say that?
Well, he had his first lesson without a guitar. That was September 3rd. He was supposed to learn 3 chords by the next Friday. We bought the guitar on Saturday. By Monday afternoon, he knew all the chords his teacher had showed him, not just the three he was supposed to learn. He continued to practice. So far it has been almost a month. He’s consistent.
Now, he tells me his real goal is to learn to play base guitar, but only after he gets really good.
