A New Student Physician

I learned that this process started in 1993, and all medical students in the US recieve a white coat acknowledging them as “Student Physician.”
At Michael’s medical school they do this about two weeks in so that they are aware of the load and what this means. At the same time, they allow guest-coaters for students to request it. Michael desired that I actually coat him. I felt privileged.

I did have one question. Where is Michael going to say he is from, as that is not easy for third culture people? Well I found myself both surprised and pleased by, “I’m Michael Mitts, from Skorzewo, Poland” coming out of his mouth. That meant a lot to me as it showed ownership of his birth and life in that wonderful country.
We had some family and friends who were nearby come and participate, and after the ceremony we went out to celebrate together.
