Defense Successful

An Invitation to Graduation

A mad rush to the finish, two re-written chapters (almost completely), and the defense of my thesis. I thought it would not entail so much, but I have had a blessed journey through my Doctor of Ministry experience at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and I am sad to see it come to an end. On the evening of March 15, 2012, I successfully defended my D Min Thesis!

I had the privilege of learning and growing with 15 others over a period of three years and under the excellent leadership of Dr. Stephen Macchia and Dr. David Currie.  The specialization concerned spiritual formation for ministry leaders, and my topic was Spiritual Formation Practices for Contagious Kingdom Expansion: A Journey with Greater Europe Mission.

I learned more than I anticipated, and God really impressed me with specifics for growing in relationship with Him. First and foremost has to do with one’s desire for God. Period! Second, the process emphasized God’s unbelievable fantastic goodness and presence with us. Thirdly, prayer as a personal, intimate, conversation with God throughout the day that involves listening, attending, and sharing with Him. Take a look at the first video here. There is much more that God did with me and my heart, so how about a cup of coffee and a conversation, if your interested.

Graduation will be May 12, 2012 at the Hamilton Campus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary at 10:00 am.  They provide a live video stream of the service, should you desire to attend via the internet (Go to www.gordonconwell.edu/live on Saturday, May 12. The live stream will begin at 9:45am EST, 8:45 am CST, and 3:45 pm CEST).  Please pray between now and graduation as I have to make sure all required stylistic edits are done to GCTS’s standards before the end of April in order to graduate.
