Touring Poznan with Friends

Yo! The MacKinnons Visited

What a pleasure to host the MacKinnons for a few days in and around Poznan.  We started touring as soon as we picked them up.  We only had a couple of days and we wanted to make the most of it.  First stop: Lunch at a cosy cafe that serves mostly Polish food.  Then it was a tour of famous landmarks in Poznan, some fun at a lake we call “Malta”, which regularly holds world championships in canoeing, kayaking, and rowing.  Oh yes, we did some bobsledding and sliding on ice.

Sunday, we were off to church (the international church here, so everyone could understand) and then to two residences of nobility of Poland.  One was a castle with armor and weapons from the middle ages and the other a large palace with a large painting (2-stories high) of Joan of Arc by a famous Polish artist, Jan Matejko.

Just before they left, we visited Megan’s school.  They had a chance to see what it was like to go to school in Poland.  Pretty cool.  We felt very blessed to have the Mackinnons enter our world and walk a few days with us.
